With a spectacular setting above St Andrews, the championship course at The Duke's gives magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside to the sea. The Duke's is highly regarded as one of the finest heathland championship courses in the British Isles and a must-play course for any golfer. Its style ranks alongside the great inland challenges, which demand accuracy and inventive play as well as power golf. And with five separate tee positions at every hole, The Duke's has the flexibility and challenge to appeal to golfers at every level.

This Championship Heathland golf course gives magnificent panoramic views over the town of St Andrews and stunning coastline.  Play is breathtaking – in every sense. The 18 hole course is set up as two loops of 9 holes – enabling The Duke's Team to change the course’s layout to suit multiple formats and competitions. Five separate tee positions on each hole offers both flexibility in overall course length and difficulty to appeal to golfers at every level. The Duke’s offers a range of first class facilities including a fully stocked pro shop, driving range, short game practice facilities and one of only 3 St Andrews courses to offer golf carts.

The Duke’s was originally designed by Peter Thomson (five times Open Champion). It was then revised and renovated with five new holes by Tim Liddy in 2006 to complement the five classic links courses along the coastline and to enhance St Andrews as the leading destination for golfers.  

Liddy’s philosophy of allowing the golf course to ‘grow out of the land’ rather than being imposed upon it means the course has matured to offer  a magnificent 18 holes in the delightful surrounding of Craigtoun Park - a spectacular, location overlooking the historic university town and Fife’s beautiful coastline.

The Duke’s clubhouse is a fantastic facility – providing an open bar and restaurant for our members, guests and visitors. There is also a terrace that opens out onto the course and provides spectacular views - the ideal venue for alfresco entertainment! Our restaurant menu changes seasonally and we can cater for group events with tailored menus to suit you and your group’s size and budget. We also have The Captain’s Room – a beautiful boardroom style venue for lunches and dinners, private parties and meetings.
